Error with 'import demo data' since 11.5

I'm receiving an error since version 11.5 of betheme when importing demo data:

✕ WordPress function wp_remote_get() test failed. Contact your hosting provider. Error: Failure when receiving data from the peer         

This functionality is fine in previous versions using the same hosting platform.

As I've never had this error before I assume it is a problem with the theme files.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

this problem is not related with theme version and we are sure about that. Your admin might turn off support for this function and that's why it does not work. And because it's default wp function, you should contact with your admin.

Sorry, I have to disagree as I can use previous versions of the theme and the function works fine on the same server.

We need to disagree as well with your theory because thousands of people are using recent version and does not have such problem. We did tested it on our side and we confirm that all is fine.

In this topic, the problem was with HTTP Basic Authentication and this option that @jklinge suggested, has been added under BeTheme Demo Data section. If server requires username and password (only then), the right fields appear what you can see on http://pasteboard.co/1qlWJ6bw.png

Yes, that's a shame… am in touch with my host still so will post a solution when they can provide me with one. 

Forgot to mention the theme is easily the best I have ever used, so it's not all negative comments from me!!!

Response from hosting provider follows:

"It depends on what URL that WordPress function is trying to access. If the site is trying to access itself over HTTP, also known as a loopback connection, that is not allowed on the shared hosting package."

Does this mean anything to you?

Yes, this function is using loopbacks. Looks like you server does not support loopback connection then. Looks like you need to try to import settings manually after demo import or switch to hosting that would support this function.
