I have been trying to remove the date on the portfolio items.

Tried the custom CSS code that you suggested before but didn't work:

.single-portfolio .post-meta { display: none; }

Ok. So to remove dates, you need to use the following css:

.portfolio_group.exposure .portfolio-item .details-wrapper .column.date { display: none !important; }
