What is the perfect size for the images in intro header in Portfolio Item view?

And how can I fit the intro header background-image with css code to contain or to cover ?

Hi,
we use FULL HD images (1920px). But about setting up cover size for intro header, please send us link to page where you would like to do this first because it's not possible in every case and we need to have a look on it first.
