Portfolio links are not working

Hi Muffin,

In my website, on the homepage, I added my work portfolio section; when I click on image for visit detail page, the page is showing an error 

"File not found (404 error)

If you think what you're looking for should be here, please contact the site owner."

I checked my portfolio categories in the admin panel. The portfolio item page is available in inside.

even I gave an external link of the live website in a portfolio; the link does not open in the correct way. it's coming like "www.webinputs.com/www.xyz.com"

A few months ago I check my website, it was working fine.

Can you please let me know why it's happening?

Hi Team,

I don't understand where I have to give http://? I did not give http:// when I create the portfolio for add a link to live websites.

I checked the potfolio page but I did not find the link option for an update or add a link to the live website.

It's working fine before.I did not change or update theme, 

Here i check my  appearance > theme got error on the top

"ERROR: Template is missing. Standalone themes need to have a index.php template file. Child themes need to have a Template header in the style.css stylesheet."

Tell me how to fix the issue. May it will fix all the issue.

Firstly update the theme to the newest version and disabl all third party plugins.

Let me know if i update the theme, will I lose my data and work of mine live website? Please let me know how to update my theme step by step with live website without any issues.

Hi,
The best way is to make a backup first. Then go to your FTP and remove the theme, after that install the newest version. Remeber that all the content is saved in the database so if you have not changed the theme file directly then nothing should happen.

I have one question, I used a child theme for my website, will I have to do the same thing like you mention replace the theme folder. will include the child theme as well?

I wanna just make sure for an update.

Your current child theme should be fine because we did not changed anything in child theme recently.
