Using theme on staging site (on a sub-domain)

We run a staging site for testing all changes for pushing them over to the production/live site.
I see that BeTheme doesn't allow for registering it on a sub-domain. In our case it's staging.mydomain.com.
I would like to suggest you at this as an option, that the license holding be able to use it on at least one (ideally two) subdomains of the main site it is registered to. I say "Ideally two" because in many environments there are three sites. Development, staging, and production.
I think that this way your need for licensing control would still be fulfilled, whilst also allow the developer to easily keep the theme, and it's plugins, up to date across the entire development platform (development, staging, live).
In the interim, what do you suggest as a way to keep the theme and its plugins up to date on a staging site?

We allow to use one license key on subdomain or subfolders but this must be a part of wordpress multisite, only then will it work.
