I deleted Images, now style.css is missing in the front end

I deleted a bunch of old images from the demo page under "media"
No I look at my site and all css custom styles are missing...
I entered them in "Design > editor" in the style.css because I don't want them to be printed on the page via "theme options"

Where is my style.css now?
the file is there in the backend AND i can see the file in the front end source...but it doesn'T WORK..the styles are not happening

...and it doesn't even work when I insert the css into "theme options"

Hi,
you must have messed up the theme files, please do not use the editor. The best way would be to reinstall the theme.

Thank you for your help...I realized I had a bracket forgotten in the css, which caused never any problems but since a wordpress (and I believe also theme-) update it prevent the whole thing from working. It works now.
