how to change menu background color

Hello everyone, i still could not find the solution for my Problem.

I want to vhange the background color of the menu. If i change TopBar Left | Background it also changes the Color of the area between the menu and Action bar. so how can i change only the menu Color, so that it gets the same Color as the submenu.

i tried some css classes but it couldnt solve my Problem.

First Picture: is the the Problem and how it is looking recently, highlighted by purple Color

and second Picture is how it should look like.

i want the marked area in the purple tone and the rest to STAY White. if i turn it purple, the whole area gets purple up to Action bar. I hope you get my Point as english is not my native language.

Okay i see, when you click on here http://sub.esche-bestattungen.de/ you see the recent normal page. that is strange. You should see the development area where i made the screenshots. i tried to open it on another Computer and it also showed the development area. should/i could i give you guys access to the page if it does not work?

esche-bestattungen.de is the page done with another theme,where the menu is in proper style, but because of several reasons i bought betheme. I want to rebuild the page with it and improve some Things i couldnt do with the previous theme.

thanks for the answer, :-)

now the menu Background gets the proper Color, without turning the upper part in the same color.!! good :-) first part of the Problem fixed.

but still the Problem is that the Background Color does not Stretch over the whole page with your code as you can see on my screenshot. How can we fix this last step?

when i analized before i saw that the wrapper_menu is only like 20% distant from each left and right side. so how can we Change that?

This is a problem, there is no better fix for this. You just have to make it wider and adjust the lft margin and padding. This would have to be constructed in another way in HTML for it to work properly. It was not meant to be used this way.
