Transparent backgroup main Menu

Hi,

I have a website with a picture behind the menu. Is there a way to make the background of the menu 50% transparent? (CSS?)

With no background the menu is not readable. With a white background we lose a vital piece of the background picture.

Same problem ... I want a 50% opacity to the background color of the menubar, because if I choose 'transparent' I loose some of the white letters due to white areas in the background header picture, and solid color looks bad ?

Please first set the transaprent header, otherwise we cannot wirte custom css.
