PHP Max Input Vars 5000

edited February 2018 in Theme support
Dear support

we are using BEtheme for a client. As shown in system stats BEtheme advice a PHP Max Input Vars  value about 5000. Normal shared hosts deliver a value of 3000 maybe 4000 also small business hosts don`t give more than 4000. What problems can cause with a smaller value? I use several themes avada, enfold, virtue --> no one of them needs this high amount of  PHP Max Input Vars --> only if you are running pages with a very hugh amount of menue items.

Because we need to move the page to another host, this information is important for us.

Thanks in advance Marc

  • Hi,
most hosting will change the max_input_vars to 5000 or even 10000 very easily, it is not a big thing.
This value tells you how many characters there can be saved to the database on page update.
So if it set to 1000 and you have a very long page, with many items added in the builder then the page could not get saved. The same applies to theme options and menus. This is a very common issue on this forum, mostly people belive that there is a limit to the length of the page using the builder :)
If you do not plan to make very long pages then 3000 should be fine.
    thanks
