Old version

We need to update from Betheme version 9.4.   The old developer used custom code without a child theme,  so we need the default Betheme version 9.4 in order to compare the default theme to their coded files,  in order to create a child theme.

Can you please provide Betheme version 9.4  ?

Or if there is a better solution,  please let me know.

sorry but we cannot provide you with such an old theme version.
We suggest creating a copy of your website and do the update, check what changed.

What is the best way to do the update from such an old version?

- overwrite the theme with ftp? or

- use the envato plugin https://envato.com/market-plugin/  ?

1. Create a backup
2. Remove the theme folder completly
3. Install the newest version.
4. Update it in the wordpress panel, you do not need any plugins.

The old developer wrote a lot of custom code, with additional custom php files.  I think your suggestion will delete important files.

Well we are sorry but there is no other sollution.
Your developer should have used a child theme if he made any changes to the theme files.
We suggest you try it anyway, you can always restore a backup that you made.
