betheme updating from version 7

Hi i wish to update the theme from V7 to the latest 9.5,  how do you recommend this?  I am using the child theme 1.2 also.

I am running the latest WP db version 4.3

Please answer my question?  Must i update in stages or can i skip version updates, i.e. Go from version 7 to the latest without any adverse effects to the website?

As we wrote above, you don't need to update in stages. You can update directly from current version to latest one.
