Can't get my nav bar to stay white on top of slider

Hi, I am using Sider rRvolution and have a slider on each page of my site. I am wanting a navigation bar across the top of each page with a white background, but no matter what I have tried with the settings, the navigation bar is transparent and menu text shows on top of the slider without a white background behind it. I've been changing settings in the theme options, page settings, and Slider Revolution settings, and nothing is helping. Can someone please tell me how to have the navigation bar stay white on top of my slider? I'm at my wit's end. Thanks.
