"Subheader | Hide" keeps resetting

For some reason, every time I edit a page, whether it's through the back-end editor or the Visual Composer, the "Subheader | Hide" setting keeps resetting to the default "Off" setting.

The result is that after editing and updating each page, I have to go back into the back-end, set that option back to "On" and update again.

Is there a fix for this?
