Revolution Slider Error: Slider with alias tiles not found

Hello,

I have imported the demo data for the tiles theme and I get the error that is mentioned in the discussion title of this post. 
When I try to manually upload the slider files from tiles.zip i get the following error page

importing slider settings and data...
Error: Could not create directory.

How do I get this working?
I am running on amazon aws bitnami.
