visual composer code appearing in search results excerpt

When performing a search such as this:

Visual composer code is appearing in the search result excerpts underneath the titles.

I know we can enable excerpts for pages and write custom excerpts, but, if possible I'd like to see if we would not have to do that.  Is it possible to have the visual composer javascript codes and other shortcodes to not appear in search results? Another example:

Thank-you!

  • Hi immersusmedia,
can you please tell me how you've enabled the excerpts for pages?

    Thank you!
  • Search is showing results based on title, wp content editor and custom fields. When displaying, is using title and wp content fields but the VC plugin, is using from this field and there is no possibility to exclude individual code. The only solution is to use Excerpt field instead.
