Responsive Menu

edited August 2016 in Menu / Mega menu
Hi, I have a problem with the menu displaying inconsistently across the mobile website. Desktop is fine, but when responsive kicks in I get the problems shown in these screenshots.

image
Home Page, for reference.

Menu as it should operate - pushes page down, menu has white background.

Next page over, page background is pushed down
but not the page content. Don't like this.

Even worse - now the page doesn't push down either.
definitely don't like this.

Bad menu!

The behaviour is identical on iPhone 6 & Galaxy S6, & on Mobile/Responsive Tester Chrome extension. It does display well on Tablet devices.

Website address is business.ashnet.co.nz

I just want the menu to behave as it does on the home page please.

Thanks for your attention.

  • I found a way through this. Somehow the error was caused by BeTheme expecting a slider on every single page. Really? & since the client doesn't want that, but does want one on the home page, I had to make an empty slider then add it to every page except the home page, then add this - .mfn-main-slider {
    display:none
    }
    to the Custom CSS box on each page. Maybe I could have made a site-wide rule then exempted the Home page, I don't know.

    What I do know is that sliders remind me of the days of people using Flash impersonators like Swish because they couldn't cope with Flash & all the capabilities it had. Repetitive .swf banners built in Swish or KoolMoves didn't last too long as a trend either, hopefully this hell-bent focus on sliders is doomed to follow in the footsteps.
  • Hi,

    we have completely no idea how you did it before because we did never experienced the menu overlap the content. If you look on our demos, you won't see such behave anywhere. We can see that you already sorted it out but if you have any problems in future, please send us link to page where the mobile menu overlap the content so we can have a look and check what might be the reason exactly.

    Thanks!
