Background colour

I want to change my background color in rgba (209,178,129, .2). I have a sidebar on the right side of my side. The color setting goes to the right side completely up to the sidebar, but on the other side, on the left side is a relatively wide gap with the unchanged background color. What setting do I have to make, so that the background color is changed completely over the whole side to the sidebar.
