hi

i build a site with the "Library" option. (http://themes.muffingroup.com/be/library/)
it has a big column on the left.

1. can i have the big column on the right?
2. it has a background image and transparent color. how do i control it?

Hi,

1. This is Creative navigation and you can change it's position under Theme options > Header & Subheader > Header section.

2. You can control it under Theme options > Custom CSS & JS > Custom CSS section.

just a question: is using "Custom CSS section" is the same as using a child theme?

if i update a theme, is the "Custom CSS section" kept or erased?

No, it's not the same. Child theme is mainly for developers who are planning to make some modification inside theme files. For more details, please visit https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

But Custom CSS section is for those who wants to make some css customization on site.
