on http://mtc.deemdesignstudios.com/ there is no cart because looks like you have disabled right top bar under Theme options > Header & Subheader > Extras section. But split header type does not have right top bar active because it simply doesn't look good as split menu is being stretched from side to side and there is not enough space for any additional stuff.
Ok, thanks. You do not have too many menu items, so in your case it might look good. So to display cart along with split header, please use the following css:
Hey, I just followed these steps to re-enable to cart icon. But now the cart icon is linked to the homepage rather than the cart page, how can I find the settings menu to change the link location?

Do you have any third party plugins? Please try to disable them all and try again. Otherwise do this:
