Is this something you've built into the theme that i could use to display loads of images / logos ?

yes, this site was built with BeTheme and the item you are asking for is Portfolio item with filtering. More details about this item, you can find on http://themes.muffingroup.com/be/theme/shortcodes/loops/#portfolio-item but if you would like to know how this site was built exactly, you can create extra WP installation where you can import this demo site. This is the easiest and fastest way to learn how things were made.

I installed the default theme but the link to "websites" just links back to your main site and is not actually on my site.
So i've still no idea how it's done.
