Right sidebar and other questions

Hi, 
few days ago I asked for a refund, but you declined. Now I decided to use this theme, but again spent another 5 hours trying to figure out how to set it up properly. Iam sure it is a nice functional theme, but you guys should do something about proper tutorial and making it more intuitive (maybe some descriptions next to functions). Anyway in 5 hours I could not figure out the way to install right sidebar to my website. I tried everything I could, watched tutorials, even in indian language...but it simply doesnt work. This theme is either broken somehow, or terribly impractical. Can you please look into it or give me an advice how to fix it? I want to have sidebar on my homepage and also posts and pages.
I installed main theme and did minor changes to it. Now if I want to update the theme, how can I do it? Will I lose the settings after update? I read some of your answers, but I dont understand what does "overwrite files in ftp" means. Could you please give me detailed instructions?
And one more thing. Iam using this theme in slovak language, which contains special marks and it makes letters with marks in headlines look different than letters without marks. How can I fix that? In a screenshot is example. (You can also see the empty right side panel taht I cannot fill with content for some reason. That blue word should be clickable link? Because it is not clickable on my website.)
