Which one is better approach for css customization?

I'm new to WP & BeTheme but good at CSS.

Which one is better for customizing css;
- to use MuffinOptions/Custom CSS pannel
or
- to edit Child-theme style.css
(apparently question for variables not verified in Muffin Options)

and while using child theme I guess I should place my custom css in child-theme/style.css not for example child-theme/css/layout.css, right?

The best way is to use the child theme.

For the file paths please use the same as the parent theme, for example:

child-theme/style.css

parent-theme/style.css
