Can I edit some image resize functions?

Hello, I was wondering if it's possible to edit some functions which create multiple image sizes when I upload a single image.

So let's say I tried uploading a 10mb photo which I didn't resize because I can do that inside wordpress, which I did. But the original 10mb photo doesn't go anywhere, when I checked the server with FTP I saw that said image now has 17 different sized versions.

I know wordpress generates a thumbnail, medium and large sizes and you can set these to 0 if desired, but themes also create their own sizes. So are all of these betheme generated images necessary? Can I prevent so many versions from being generated? Thanks.

  • HI,
sorry but there is not easy way to remove the betheme or wordpress generated images.
The original image can be found in the media librabry.
You would have to edit and change code in so many files that it is almost impossible.
    thanks
