Basic License: Test/Dev Environment Possible?

Hi all,
I have purchased a basic license for my website. Now the plan is to have a test site on a different domain. Test site would be here:
test.mydomain.com
Once I have set up everything, I will move the site to the productive domain:  www.mydomain.com.
Then, when I do additioal changes to the site, I would like to do these again on test.mydomain.com and then copy the changes over to the productive site.
Is this workflow supported with the basic license? Or do I have to buy an additional license to cover this?
