I cannot update the theme

Hi

When I try to update my theme to the latest version I get the error

An error occurred while updating Betheme: The package could not be installed. The package contains no files.

this message could mean that your license key is used on more than one domain.

Ah, Okay it was also on a subdomain (new.domain.com) that I was using to demonstrate and test before setting live.

Is there any way to have it registered on a testing subdomain to test and review changes and updates before moving them onto the live website?

The theme is now registered to the www. subdomain and has updated correctly but would I be able to register it without any subdomain and have it work in all?

All of the themes on the envato market are under the same license,
details: https://themeforest.net/licenses/standard

You can register unlimited subdomains with one license key, as long as the main domain is registered under the same key.

Can you register this license key on the subdomain and check if you'll be able to download/update plugins?

It should work as well, maybe the problem was related to somthing else.
