How to change the layout of the blog?

Dear,

I'm trying to change the layout of the blog. 

For that I went to Theme Options/Blog, Portfolio & Shop/Blog, and chose a different layout, and subsequently saved the changes. But when I refresh the site, nothing happens. 

What did I do wrong?

    Hi,
    I assume that you inserted the "Blog" item on that page.
    Items do have separate options than declared in theme options, so to change that layout you should edit a "blog" item.

    To set the default blog page (theme options will affect that page), you have to go to the Settings > Reading
    and select the page in the "posts page" dropdown menu.
