Images not displaying side by side on mobile

Hiya, I am building a site for mobile only and am having a real problem displaying images side by side. I have experimented a bit and just cannot get images to display side by side on mobile devices, it always shows as stacked on top of each other. O have tried in wraps/columns/images/shortcodes in columns, etc.

Please help!

    Not that easy to do but what I want to do should be.

    I just want the simplest of things - a grid of 2 columns of images that hold their responsiveness of 2 columns on a phone screen - very simple.

    so, imagine the "O" is a picture with a link on it:

    OO
    OO
    OO
    OO

    that is the layout I want on my phone screen, that will stay responsive.

    A simple ask, I think...

    There is no way to achieve two-grid layout with BeTheme.
    Our theme is made to display only the single row on mobile - this is hardcoded in our theme.
