Two different blog pages?

Good day. I have a blog on my site, and I'd like to create a separate "News" section that works like the blog. I would only want posts tagged or categorized as "News" showing up on the News page, and every other post that is NOT tagged or categorized as News showing up on the Blog page. I do not want News posts to appear on the Blog page. Is there any way to do this, or do I need to convert my News posts to pages?

Thank you.

  • Hi,

in this case you should convert news posts to pages and inside use muffin builder blog item where you can define multiple categories.

    Thanks!
  • Well, in reality, I used the Muffin Builder Blog item for the Blog page to display anything with a category of "blog" and the same thing for the News page with the category of "news". Is this going to present any problems if I don't use one of them as the Posts page? I would have no visible Posts page on the site. I haven't been able to see how this would present a problem.

    Thank you.
  • This could cause the problems. Have you read http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/documentation/#blog ? Because this is the place where we explained how to properly create blog page.
  • Yes, I love your theme and have played a lot with it. I have not seen any problems so far. If you'd like, you can look at http://www.intelemedia.com/blog and http://www.intelemedia.com/news to see what I've done. What kind of problems do you think I might have?

    Thank you.
  • Where is the problem exactly here? Blog layouts or what? Because we are confused now and not sure where the problem is. Because if you man posts duplicated from category into another, we did not noticed anything like that on these pages.
  • There are no problems. I was asking if setting it up the way I did could cause problems. I guess you misunderstood my question. So your answer is that using the blog content block in the Builder and not having a designated published Blog page should NOT affect the site. Right?
  • No, this is not what we mean. Muffin Builder items and blog page are totally different. If you want to have completely blog page with whole functionality, then you must setup blog page in accordance to step by step instruction in the documentation. Only then, you will have all blog options.
