How to make portfolio looks like on Company 6?

Hi there, I was trying to do the portfolio items on the main page like on the Company 6 Demo website but I couldn't. 
The magnifier and ling icons stick to the bottom of the image when hover, I want them to be centered. On hover the image doesn't zoom in it just become white overlay.

How to make it looks like on demo website without importing the whole demo content? Thank you!

    Hello,
    You can change the image hover effects in the Theme Options > Global > General, scroll down to the "Image Frame" section and change the "Style" of it.
    I wanted to insert the screenshot of that field, but image hosting we use is down right now - sorry about that.
