Simple Gallery in Column - beginners problem

Hello All, I wonder if you could help a real beginner.

I have modified my chosen theme and got to the gallery in a column but can't get it to link up with images when i click. I've been trying for hours and its driving me nuts.

I'm a real beginner and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

while creating gallery, you should link the images to File instead of Attachment page. You can see this option on https://codex.wordpress.org/images/thumb/c/c7/edit-gallery-drag.png/800px-edit-gallery-drag.png
