Issues with shortcodes

I have a new installation of BeTheme and the plug-in Essential Grids. When I place the shortcode for the new grid, the information [ess_grid alias="gt1"][/ess_grid] it just displays as text and doesn't render. I have never had this problem with BeTheme in the past.

Please try to put this shortcode in a plain text element with the shortcode parser enabled.
