Query Loop Linear Mode - Pause on hover?

Hi,

I'm building a slider made from banner boxes using the new Linear Mode option for a section's query loop. Is there a way to add in an option/code to pause the loop when a user hovers over? They will be able to click and drag in order to get the animation to slow down, but it'd be great to have this option.
