Please advise on best practice: Embedding a motion graphic mp4 file

I am building a hero section on my website. Here is how it looks when logged in:
(Image on the left is an mp4)
How I achieved this look: I set the mp4 as the background of the wrap on the left side. I put a spacer inside of it to allow the full video to display.
When I'm not logged in, it looks like this:
My questions:
- Is there a better way to execute on this? I don't want a play button or a progress bar or a player of any kind, I just want it to auto-play on loop
- What steps can I take to minimize load time as much as possible?
