License for multisite

Hi.. I am a web developer from a Tier-3 City of Southern most part of India where businesses won't spend much on Websites, we charge maximum of 8k to 12INR i.e ( 93 USD to 140 USD) for complete web package which includes domain which is 1800INR (21 USD), Hosting 4500 INR (50 USD) so excluding (21 + 50 = 71 USD for domain & hosting), we hardly get 22 to 69 USD as development charges + profit! I usually buy themes and use same theme for 4 to 6 clients, I will be spending after taxes 6000INR (70 USD) for theme divided by 4 to 6 usage, which means 10 to 15 USD per client per theme so that as a developer I also can save little after spending domain, hosting, theme plus office expenses. Clients usually expects some customisation, photo correction, content writing which make us work 4 days to a week on a website. So if you charge 71 USD (after taxes in India) for each usage which makes us impossible to recover the cost.

1) Paying 71 USD (BeTheme) is fine but paying that for every single usage is really tough with above mentioned condition. so considering I am a developer you shall give relaxation for us to use license for 4 to 5 clients so that it will be collaborative and a win-win situation for both of us.

2) Considering additional work, customisation, photo processing, content writing we should also earn something instead of paying everything for theme, isn't it? Charge upfront cost of 60 USD plus taxes no issue but bill additional licenses at nominal cost of 10 - 15 USD so that it will push us for longer collaboration instead of opting for other themes. I am in this domain for over a decade and this is the first time I am encountering 'one usage policy'

3) Here in India considering the conservative market, right from hosting to plugins everyone offers discount ( 30% to 70%) to developers which encourage more usage and long term collaboration considering huge market of India.

4) People use WPthemedetector, wappylyzer and other tools to get to know theme details, so if you give package for developers / freenlancers they will start using your theme in small cities like us (80% of India is suburban population of Tier2 / Tier3 cities) which shall help to conquer more market.

Hope you consider this request and help us to build longer collaboration, Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing your perspective so clearly — we truly understand your situation, and what you're saying makes a lot of sense. You're absolutely right that in many regions, especially in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, development budgets are very limited, and developers need flexible, cost-effective solutions.

However, we’d like to clarify that Betheme is sold exclusively through ThemeForest, and unfortunately, there are some strict limitations tied to that platform. ThemeForest does not currently support:

    • Regional pricing based on the buyer’s location or market,
    • Or multi-use licenses, which would allow the use of one license for multiple clients.

These are platform-level restrictions, and as the theme authors, we don’t have control over them. We completely understand how this creates challenges for freelancers and developers like you, especially when working in cost-sensitive markets.

We genuinely appreciate your feedback — it's thoughtful and constructive — and we hope that in the future, ThemeForest will consider more flexible licensing or pricing options that better support developers in your position.

Thanks again for reaching out, and we wish you continued success in your work.

    Best regards
