  • Also, why is text appearing at top of my blog category:
    http://umbilika.com/category/blog/

Why is this line at the top " Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging!". Whatever the first post is on that page, the text appears there?

  • Hi,

sidebar for category pages is always the same as for blog page. So you must create blog page first and then set this page as posts page under Settings > Reading section. After that, text from the top of category page will disappear as well.
  • But what about for subsequent blogs/categories? This means any more categories I create beyond my first blog will not have proper formatting.

I will have 3 different blogs and need all to be formatted with right sidebar. Please advise.

Also I did what you said and it looks terrible. The blog excerpts are centered, and not left justified. http://umbilika.com/blog/

I want it to look like this: http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/blog/

    Please advise
  • If excerpts are centered in means that you did something wrong. We recommend to remove blog page and create it once again. Also please remove plugins and custom css's because this could be the reason why your excerpts are centered.
  • I will look into this but you still didn't answer this:

  • We answered on this question already. Everything should be ok after setting Blog page properly. We suggest to check documentation http://themes.muffingroup.com/betheme/documentation/#blog where we described how to set up Blog page properly. Also, please notice that it is possible to use create one Blog page per site. But categories, will have the same sidebar as blog page because both are closely related.

    Thanks for understanding!
  • Got it thank you. I had all settings and setup right, it was actually way simpler than all that. I had to pick "classic" on the layout section in theme options --> blog.
