Ensuring Embedded Video is visible on the Blog Page not just the full article page

just to be clear my Blog Page is called Tuesday Tips. This page is designated as the "blog" or "posts" page but also contains some "static" blocks, notably those containing the logo images and two fancy heading blocks.

When I embed a youtube video in a blog post I want it to display on the left side of the post with some text and the "read more" on the right side of the post so that visitors can see and play the video from the blog post page and not have to move to the "full article" page. However whenever I embed a video in a blog post it can only be seen on the "Full Article" page.

How can I achieve what I want to do here?

OK. Replying to my own question. I have worked out how to do it. For those reading this post here is what I was doing wrong.

I tried firstly using a "video block" but that did not work, then I tried embeding the video URL in the post but that did not work, finally I entered the video URL in the "media" field further down the post page (clearly the builder needs to be activated). This displays the video "Box" nicely on the left of the post on the blog page with the text on the right and the "read more" at bottom right.

Further to my question above. While in my own reply I had appeared to solve the problem when I tried to run the video it would not connect and run. However, removing the URL from the page video field and embedding it again in the actual post while not displaying on the Blog page it displays and runs properly on the article page (please visit the URL above to view) so now I am really stumped and have no idea what`s wrong or going on here.

Help needed please

I can see that in your source for the video you have pasted the whole link, where you should have passed only the video id, see here : http://prntscr.com/fb1pq6

so I am still not too sure what I am doing wrong here?

Ok, do this:
1. Edit the post and insert the video id in the video|ID field, like here: http://prntscr.com/fb4l8t
2. Select the video format for the post, like here: http://prntscr.com/fb4lt8
3. Remove the video link from the wordpress editor.
