Inner links keep changing by themselves

Hello, I'm having a recurring problem with links on my site. This problem happens maybe twice a month and affects a large number of links on my site.

imagePlease see this screenshot:

Whenever you click/hover over a button, it takes you to the incorrect link. The correct link in this example is supposed to be "scoop.solar/solar-installation" and this used to be correct. However, after a couple weeks, it had changed to "scoop.solar/solar-sales/solar-installation" (where /solar-sales/ is the page that the button is on).

In the Builder > Hover Box element > Link field, I had inputted "solar-installation". Now, every so often, I have to switch between that and "/solar-installation" so that the link works properly again.

This problem is temporarily solved but I predict it will come back again in 2-3 weeks' time as it normally does.

Please let me know how to fix this situation as we can't keep having broken links come up randomly on our site, even after we fix them!

  • Hi,
this was probably caused by changing the parent of the site /solar-installation from the main page to
/solar-sales/ . This could not have happened on its own.
    thanks
  • It's been happening on its own, because we find out about the link jumping due to people discovering 404 redirects on our website. I have not updated this webpage for the last month and yet this issue occurred this past week.

The domain name, scoop.solar, remains the same.
In terms of page hierarchy, /solar-installation is its own page, and /solar-sales is also its own page. They links both work fine in the nav menu at the top.
It is whenever we try to create an inner link from one page to another via a button or a theme element that these URL changes keep bouncing in.

This is very crucial to our business and I hope you will take another look at it. Please let me know if there's any other evidence I can offer.
  • There is not much evvidence you can show, this must be somebody messing with the .htaccess on your website, this could not be happening on its own(by this I mean that our theme would do this)
Maybe a SEO plugin is causing this or this could be even server realted.
Please contant your hosting provider and ask them.
