Sidebar not showing up

Hello,
I've followed these steps you've provided in another discussion and my sidebar is still not showing up:

1 step: Please go to Theme options > Getting started > Sidebars section and create sidebar(s) that you need. After that click "Save changes" what is really important.

2 step: Go to Appearance > Widgets section and already created sidebar from step no. 1 will be waiting for you. Just put right widgets into sidebar.

3 step: If you want to select this sidebar for page, then please go to Pages section and edit page for which you want sidebar. Under Content Builder section you have 2 values:

3.1) Layout (choose if you want sidebar on left or right side)
3.2) Sidebar (select already created sidebar for page)

The page has saved a spot for it, but none of my widgets are appearing for the sidebar. What might be the fix? Thank you!

  • Hi,

are you sure widgets exist in the sidebar? Because sidebar may be empty.
  • Yes, 100%. There is only one sidebar, and I added several widgets to make sure. BTW I'm pretty familiar with WP, I've made dozens of sites and teach a college class on it :)

  • So you should re-install wordpress then and theme files because sidebars works on 100%. We tested them on our side thousand of times and there is no problems related with theme at all.
  • Okay, so I did all that, and it's still not working. Would you be able to login and see what's going on?
  • Please send us private message then and we'll check what you did wrong.
  • Hello, I am having a similar issue. I have uploaded new theme files and Wordpress but still can't get the sidebars to show up.
  • Hi @etccl
Where do you want your sidebars to show?
  • I think I have it working. There were some sidebars that were created a while back and they were no longer working but I am able to get new ones to work. Going to delete all the old ones and create new ones and assign to pages. Quick question though, the only way to get a different sidebar on different pages is to manually assign to each and every page, correct? Its just I have about 300-400 pages of content that were just imported over and if I could get around manually assigning sidebars to each page that would be great but understand that I probably don't have a choice. Thought I would ask just to be sure though :)

    Thanks in advance.
  • I am having the same problem as sheila589. What was the resolution for her problem?
  • You can set the sidebars for all pages globally in theme options>sidebars, these option have priority over the local settings of the sidebars when editing the pages.
  • Setting sidebars for pages globally would set the same exact sidebar for every page though, not allow you to assign different sidebars to different pages, correct. Muffin doesn't have a bulk add sidebars to pages in the Quick Edit, right? Just wanted to verify there is not an easier way to assign those before I go an manually assign sidebars to all 300/400 of my pages. Please just let me know. Thanks in advance.
  • No sorry, you either add them all in theme options>sidebars or add them one by one on page edit.
