Portfolio "Navigate in the same category" not working...

Fabulous theme. I need some advice on the "Navigate in the same category option".
My home page is here:
From here, we click "luxury accomodations", which takes us here: http://52.168.166.50/index.php/suites/.
This page, uses a Portfolio Item and correctly displays all Portfolio Items where the Category="Bedrooms".
From here, we click on a Portfolio-Item such as:
This correctly shows my portfolio-item...and here's where I run into an issue.
What I want to happen is for the navigation arrows to show up and allow me to move through other Portfolio Items in this category.
But what actually happens is:
a) If "Navigate in the same category" is checked, no navigation arrows show up at all.
b) If "Navigate in the same category" is unchecked, navigation arrows show up, but allow the user to navigate through random items not in the same category.
What do I do, to get the behaviour I need?

Sorry but although you have selected the item and show only the 'bedroom' category, when you enter a portolio project you are redirected to a page that has no corelation to the previous one. So the navigation in the portfolio will cover all the portfolio categories and sort them by date.
