New Portfolio Categories - Add to showcase menu

Hi!
I've created new portfolio categories under Portfolio -> Portfolio Categories -> Add New
But am not seeing them on my website. Where do I go to link these to the menu? 
As you can see on www.carleyartistry.com the current categories are fashion, weddings: I've added Before & Afters, and Beauty, but do not see those listed.

    Hi,
    you first have to create a main portfolio page so the projects can display correctly.
    Please make a new page and then set the page template to portfolio, screen: http://prntscr.com/hg9eba
    Then go to theme options>portfolio and select this page as the main portfolio page.

    If you want to use them in the menu, please go to screen options and enable it, http://prntscr.com/hg94f6

    I didn't ask the question correctly. The correct term I was looking for was portfolio filter. I can't figure out how to change the titles on the existing portfolio filter. That menu already exists somewhere, I need to edit it.

    The portfolio filters are nothing else than portfolio categories. Go to dashboard>portfolio>portfolio categories.

    This isn't helpful. 

    I do not want to create a new page. There is already a portfolio/showcase. It is already linked on the backend portfolio screen. There are already filters on the site for the portfolio categories. 

    The new categories don't show up on the page where the current filters exist. I need to know how to EDIT THE EXISTING filters. They are not in the menu page that you are directing me to. 

    Did you look at my page? http://carleyartistry.com/ I understand the showcase theme is one of few that pre-contain this filter - so perhaps you are misreading? I have read the documentation at length and watched all of the portfolio videos and these filters are not mentioned.

    They only apper if the categories are selected in the protfolio items, if a category is not selected then it will be not shown.
