Question about Sidebar location

Hello,

I searched the forums and didn't find this questions, so I hope it's not a repeat!

Is it possible to include a sidebar on a page, but have it start only below the first, full-width image on the page? For instance, here is a page from someone else's site that I think does this well. http://www.jobjenny.com/about-us/

I'd like to be able to do this, but whenever I add a sidebar to a page, it always starts at the very top, and the image I have in the top position is always made narrower, instead of staying full width. Here is an example: http://www.professionalprogressions.com/99-resume/

My thought is that I need to somehow make the top image a part of the header, but if I do that, won't it become a part of the header on every page?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Lezlie
