Change the stype of featured images

Hello,

On the home page of a site there is a section with featured categories:

website: www.wallfinish.nl

How can we change the style? Now these are rectangles with circles inside with the name of the category in it. We want to change it to rectangles, with the photo of the category and a little label with the name of the category.

Arre these predefined?
