How to add/change background for cart and checkout pages

Hi there, 

I'm entirely new at building a website, so please bear with me. 

I've set up WooCommerce, but the Cart and Checkout have transparent backgrounds so it's difficult to read the text on the forms. On other pages, I've added white backgrounds through the form builder. I can't seem to do that here. I've tried adding CSS from other people's requests but I haven't seen any changes.
