Unable to remove meta name="description" content="Just another WordPress site"

I'm using the theme 'Be' with demo of WebDesign and done with almost everything for the website but the only problem is that I'm getting this <meta name="description" content="Just another WordPress site"> and have tried editing the header.php file and also tried installing plugins but all the pages contains the same description. Also have change the site name and description from WP Settings and still no change. I need help on changing this thing.

Would really appreciate your support.

Hi,

this meta comes with WP itself. It's also under functions/theme-head.php file so you can remove this line from there.

I'm sorry, but that's stupid. That default needs to be removed from both Wordpress and Betheme. Once Facebook gets ahold of that, it is such a pain in the butt to remove it.

You don't have to add the second setting for it in the BeTheme options. I've noticed that some demo installs have it and some don't. I'm not saying you have to remove it from the actual Wordpress settings, but I see no reason to add it somewhere else that people have to dig for it.

Beyond that, it's a stupid description. "Just another?" Wouldn't the whole point that people would want their site to be something beyond "Just another" Wordpress site?

Yes, we agree that's it's stupid but this comes with WordPress itself. It does not come with the theme. So your request, should be sent to WP developers.

I tried the above solutions but none of them are working:

1. So, I deleted below:

2. Remove from Theme Option any description (even turned it off); and

3. Clear FB cache at Object Debugger.

@IhsanMohamad What you ask for, requires files customization what in reference to Item Support Policy is not allowed. So if you want to modify files and don't know how, you should contact with your web developer.

This is a major issue for us. When a post is shared on FB the tag line makes us the website developer and our clients look unprofessional. Without a fix we will be forced to use another theme and we love betheme.

As far as I know I have it addressed on the backend. It appears on Facebook when anything is shared.

The "just another" tagline began appearing after an update but not sure which or when. It seems to appear only when a post or page is shared on Facebook.

We did checked it and we are sure this text was in the code after update, you tried to add it into facebook and they cached your site with that tagline. We did checked your page and this text does not exist of course. Looks like you need to wait until Facebook will remove that text from their cache.

In Yoast, having a "Meta description template" for Tags to generate dynamically a meta Description for tag/archives pages doesn't overwrite "Just another WordPress site".

I think it's a Betheme Issue, and that creates a lot of duplicate Meta in Google Search Console

You have to go to theme options>SEO and change the meta description.

I have a problem with meta description. I'm using yoast and I customized my description with snniped. Now when I do seo analysis I se problem with double meta description... and on google search stock theme description is displayed? How to remove it???

did you disable the theme SEO options in theme options>SEO. If you are using a third party plugin then you need to do it.

Hi,

Please go to Wordpress Dashboard > Settings > General

Change the tagline and wait few hours/days, google robots needs to reconfigure it.
