Rev slider nav buttons on top of submenu background

On this site, there are small Revolution Sliders (post-based sliders) in the sidebar. However when you hover over a menu item with a large submenu, the submenu backrounds drops down over the top of those sliders, but the navigation buttons of the slider show on top of the submenu background.
I tried messing with the z-index in css of the subment and the rev slider nav buttons, and I got some progress, but not what I need.
I just need the rev slider nav buttons to now who up on top of a submenu background when the submenu background drops low enough to cover them.
How do we fix this?
