BeTheme Update ( Childtheme)

Hey everyone. 
I just saw that there is an update for BeTheme. It tells me that if I dont have a child theme (which i dont) everything will be reseted. 
Im struggling to understand, what exactly counts as a change to the theme ?
I did not play around with the CSS file at all, just changed texts and pictures. Is that going to be resetted as well?

    Hello,
    If you didn't change anything in the theme files then feel free to update.
    The Child Theme prevents losing changing a modified code of our theme made by customer.

    Of course, all of the content and theme options will be the stored the same - you will not lose them while updating.
