Exclude category in blog

Hi there,

on this page http://bo.isar3.de/ueber-uns/news-archiv, I´m trying to exclude the categories with the IDs 14 (Referenzen) and 22 (Mini-Referezen). I´ve set them both coma-separated in the Blog-Module, yet nothing happens - they are stil there.

What am I doing wrong?

Did you provide the slug or an id of the category?

It's really necessary to provide the slugs separated with coma.

at first I had only tried the IDs (numbers), now I tried with the slugs – yet it stil doesn´t work.

Can you test if it works when all of your plugins are disabled?

Do not forget about clearing the browser's cache.

Hi Pablo,

unfortunately not – I´ve deactivated all plugins cleared the cache and it stil doesn´t work.

Do you have any other idea?

Hey Daniel,

it does not work because you are inserting slug names in the exclude field, while it says that you need to inser ID numbers.

Hi Bryan,

I had tried numbers before and then were told (by Pablo) to try it with the slug (see my post from february 12th)... but nothing worked.

Do you have any other idea?

You cannot exclude the categories, but you can provide which one should be displayed - the exclude option is for excluding single posts.

If you want to display one of the categories in "Multiply Categories" field, you have to provide the slug of the category.

That field you were using is just for excluding one of the posts (and you have to provide an id of the post there)

It is, but with a Custom CSS code.

Simply get the slug and insert a dot before it, example: .news{display:none !important}

Be sure, that you insert that CSS on that page which you are editing, because if you will insert it in Theme Options > Custom CSS & JS > CSS, it will disable it for all of the pages on your website.
