Blog order ascending/descending

I'm having trouble changing the order in which my blog posts display. I'd like my most recent posts to display at the top, with each older post in the same category underneath it. I have it sorting by date, but the order will not change whether I pick "ascending" or "descending" as the option. Right now it's showing the oldest post in that category first, and I want the opposite.

Did you set the main blog page in the Settings > Reading?

The Theme Options > Blog, Portfolio & Shop > Blog options are working for this page only.

If you are using the "Blog" item, then it has separate options, it does not inherit options from the theme options. (Of course, you can change these settings by editing that item in the Muffin Builder)

Oh sorry I didn't mean a dedicated blog page, what I'm talking about is the blog item. I've changed those settings several times and it still doesn't work. Should I send you a link?

After disabling all of your plugins (there is over 50 of them!), it works fine.

The issue is related to one of the third-party plugins, disable one by one to find which is the trouble-maker.
