SearchWP not returning results since BetTheme upgrade

  I tried everything but couldn't make it work. It works if I active any other themes. I contacted the SearchWP support them they confirmed that the Betheme has some issue with it as it just doesnt work for it.

  But, we do not support the "SearchWP" plugin.

  We did not test this script/plugin with the theme. Our policy states that we do not support third party plugins or custom code so unfortunately, we cannot be of any help to you.
  Also, we cannot recommend any plugins other than the ones we support. You can find the list on this page, in the sidebar:

  Well then BeTheme doesn't support any of the search plugins like SearchWP, Relevanssi etc because your developers have overwritten the search filter in the theme functions. That's a bad news because these are some of the most popular plugins and your developers couldn't find the way around to exclude the search from it and now we had to depend on wordpress default search.

  I found the fix:

  
  

  - Open /betheme/functions/theme-functions.php in code editor

  - Search for line: add_action('pre_get_posts', 'mfn_search');

  - Replace with this code:

  if(!isset($_GET['s']))

  {

  add_action('pre_get_posts', 'mfn_search');

  }

  
  

  
  

  If you dont want to edit the parent theme then just copy theme-functions.php in the child theme and follow the same steps:

  /betheme-child/functions/theme-functions.php

  
  

  
  

  Hope this will be helpful for anyone else who is searching for the solution to fix it.
