Counter Element stopped supporting decimals

Hello We had a site that we used the Counter element to display some number in various pages ( more than 50 ). In many of those pages the numbers where in decimals. I dont know when but it seems that it floors the decimal to integer now, Because those number where representing mm of PVC the client go a bit mad! I wanted to know if that change was wanted or its a bug and if you will change it in the future.
